Yes, I don't know how big these appeared in the original format, but I can't imaging the paper printing these bigger than shown here, and even then it is very hard to read sometimes! His beautiful line art and incredible animation like sequences makes up for the word balloons, in my humble opinion! I love his clean lines, and his bold outlines on foreground figures are a model for artists to this day!
