I have been collecting comic books since I learned to read. Before this blog, I have been blogging about comics for about 4 months, and while I definitely have something to share, and look forward to bringing you bigger and better posts, I cannot set foot in this arena without acknowledging the other blogs and blog hosts who have inspired me thus far. There are literally thousands of comic book themed blogs with many great and fun blogs, and more starting every day, but there are only a small amount that present whole stories and/or intelligent and insightful analysis of said story or art.

Here is MY list of some of the greatest comic blogs on the web. All the blogs mentioned here are listed and linked on the sidebar under the heading APOCOLYTE'S PANEL OF EXPERTS. I call them that because each blog/blogger listed has incredible knowledge to share as well as excellent comic stories/ art from the past* (*these blogs pertain to the Golden, Silver, and Bronze age of comics for the most part  --  not a place to discuss the latest comic books on sale -- there are other places for that). These blogs have APOCOLYTE'S Seal Of Approval, and I highly reccomend you visit/follow them with regularity (if you don't already). You will always find amazing comic book entertainment by coming HERE, and in APOCOLYTE'S PANEL OF EXPERTS. Chances are, you just might learn something, too.

My all time favorite comic book blog is the one and only
PAPPY'S GOLDEN AGE COMIC BLOGZINE
I think it's safe to say that Pappy started this whole 'comics-blog' thing with his BLOGZINE way back in 2006, and has been posting mind-boggling stuff nearly every day since then. Comic book expert Pappy has an amazing wealth of knowledge and trivia regarding the history of comics, and his posts are always great reading. The original and the best.  Go there right now, you can start digging and spend hours upon hours enjoying Pappy's Golden Age treasures. Time well spent.

Coming in a veeery close second is the ever incredible
THE HORRORS OF IT ALL
Horror comic expert Karswell has created an amazing, one-of-a-kind refuge for all things creepy, gorey, and horriffic at THE HORRORS OF IT ALL, or THOIA as we 'in the know' call it! Karswell serves up delicious and bountiful helpings of the much stigmatized  yet much-loved Pre-Code Horror Comics of the fifties. For a fascinating look at horror comics, and all things dark and scary, check in and don't check out!

I can't continue listing these in any particular order now, because they are all equally wonderful for their own reasons.
For sheer volume of posts, no one can touch
GOLDEN AGE COMIC BOOK STORIES
Art historian/chronicler/expert Mr. Door Tree has a seemingly bottomless pit filled with the most amazing treasures that he shares generously  --  treasures ranging from fine art to illustration, to comic books, to pulp covers, etc., etc., etc.! You name it, I think Mr. Doortree has a copy of it somewhere and will post it for everyone to enjoy! An outstanding site. So many excellent, wide-ranging posts!

One of my first stops every day on the web is
TEN CENT DREAMS
A fantastic comics blog by comic book expert Lysdexicuss, a talented fellow with a gift for writing as well as art. Wonderful Golden and Silver Age comic stories are posted with daily regularity, usually in twos and threes! One of the best newer comics blogs out there! A Must-See! My favorite new(er) blog.

If anyone would want to take over the internet one blog at a time, you would do well to study at the feet of
Mr. Mykal Banta.  At present this gentleman has not one, not two, but THREE incredible comics blogs!
The BIG BLOG OF KIDS COMICS
GOLD KEY COMICS
STAR STUDDED WAR COMICS
How this eloquent comic book diplomat has the time to maintain 3 excellent comics blogs (as well as the award-winning RADIATION CINEMA!), I just don't know. But I am so glad he does! Make these three blogs daily stops and let Mykal share his wonderful comic book knowledge and expertise, his amazing (and family-friendly) collection of Kid's Comics, as well as buried treasures from the nearly-forgotten Gold Key comics line, and did I mention the greatest blog for Golden and Silver Age War comics, too? You must check out this rising blog-star! Whatever your tastes, you'll find something awesome on a Mykal Banta site.

Comics expert Chuck Wells has been posting great stuff since 2007. Not only comic books, but popular culture related to comics, and...did I mention the beautiful ladies? Chuck has an expert eye for finding and posting some of the most -ahem- gorgeous girls found online. Always something good!

SEQUENTIAL CRUSH
Romance comics expert Jacque Nodell looks at the romance comics of the 60's and 70's with her perceptive eye and gives wonderful analysis with a female perspective (obviously), which is a welcome change of pace from the typically 'male' comics bloggers POV we usually find. I always say, "Make Love, Not War!" This one's a winner.

APOCOLYTE'S WORLD OF COMICS,
 was created with the intention of satisfying the craving comic book fan (and myself) with ONLY COMICS  --  no filler, no other topic  -- just comics, comics, COMICS!! We'll touch on Platinum Age, Golden Age, Silver, Bronze, Copper, even a bit of Modern Age perhaps. We will look at every genre under the sun  --  Superhero, Action/Adventure, Detective/Police/Crime, Romance, War, Horror, Jungle, Funny Animals/Cartoons, Humor/Teen, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Alternative/Underground, etc...
My collection is not necessarily the biggest or the best, but I'm happy to share the treasure I do have, and with hundreds and thousands of comic collector's out there, I am always looking for great comic book stories, so if you are a collector and are able to share scans of some of your treasures for us all to enjoy, please email me (see profile).
